A summer red
Luc Pirlet Minervois Rouge
If you are into trying a new region but weary you may waste your hard earned money on a dud, I can assure you this is a good place to start. For less than $10 you can pick up this easy drinker. This is fast becoming a favorite region of mine. Languedoc- Roussillon is southwest France and this region is producing excellent wines at a great price.
I have a strongly held belief that people would explore more wine regions if they felt more comfortable being able to pronounce the names. Don’t let it stop you. Pull it up on your phone, show your local wine merchant and cough up $20 for two bottles. This is light –medium bodied, fruity, floral and lush. You will love this in the summer when you have your friends over hanging by the pool or for a romantic summer night.
My husband and I are fortunate enough to have a boat. I’m grabbing a bottle for one of those nights we sit out on the dock listening to the music from the restaurant next door. What exudes romance more than a French wine that’s hard to pronounce?
