Last few weeks of Summer

Ste Chapelle Blood Orange Spritz

We only have about 3 more weeks until labor day, and I for one am making the most of the last bits of summer before I start transitioning to fall moment wines.  I never thought it would happen, but I am getting a little Rosé exhaustion.  I was really in the mood for something different when these little beauties caught my eye.

First off, canned wine convenience is sweeping the summer.  It’s hard to pass up the ease of these cute cans when you are thinking of packing up for a day outside in the heat.

Second, blood orange.  There hasn’t been one time I have been disappointed with anything blood orange infused, flavored or mixed.  So this was a no brainer for me.

The aromas of this spritzer jump out of the glass.  It’s very vibrant, with orange and floral notes.  This is lightly effervescent and slightly sweet.  This was so delicious served ice cold as I dry off from a refreshing swim.  My family just got a huge bundle of blue claw crabs.  I”m laying down some newspaper and cracking open another can of spritz.

Considering that the summer is fading from our grasp, and days hanging at the beach and pool are numbered, I”m getting lots of summery drinking in before it’s all a faint memory.  Cheers.
