Chronic Cellars Purple Paradise
I’ll admit I’m a sucker for a cool label. That being said, I think as with a book and its cover you shouldn’t judge a wine by the label. I generally try not to get seduced by marketing magic on wine bottles but sometimes it’s fun to just grab something that catches your eye and give it a try. Wines with visual bottle appeal are also great to bring for a get together with friends. They generate interest in the wine that might not have been there. I like something different or unique so here it is.
Purple Paradise luckily was as intriguing as there edgy label design. This wine has depth and is layered with flavors. It’s a blend of Zinfandel, Syrah, Petit Syrah and Grenache…ah…yum. It’s spicy, peppery and then as a little surprise under the spice and fruit there is a floral note. For $15 this is a really nice bottle to grab for your next get together. You can fully enjoy this without food, but if you want to have some munchies as well that would work too.
