Your new weeknight wine
Shinn Estate Red NV
Here’s the game plan, you need to stock up on a case of this for your go-to weeknight wine. As stated in a previous post I’m a huge fan of the Shinn Wild Boar Doe. At a much higher price point, I reserve the Wild Boar Doe for my tree decorating day. It’s a much bigger wine with robust flavors. But now for $12.99 you can have this solid, elegant red blend (a sort of baby Wild Boar Doe) for your weeknight cooking. I don’t know about you, but I love having a glass while I prepare dinner. It somehow makes the task more bearable, am I right?
Every change of season I grab some of my favorite cookbooks and cooking magazines and write down all the recipes I want to make as the weather changes. Do I make all of them? Certainly not, but I love scouring the pages and getting inspired. Fall is by far my favorite. There are so many possibilities for both savory meals and baking. My inlaws just gave me some beautiful fresh tomatoes. So for tonight, I’m making a tomato, gruyere, and caramelized onion tart to go with my Shinn. I’ll be enjoying a glass as I prepare and also as I eat.
The red blend is oaky, earthy all the while laced with ripe strawberry. The color of this wine is reminiscent of the red in the leaves as they change color which is why it’s a perfect fall wine. I can’t wait for you to try this. I hope you enjoy every sip!
